            Hello, this letter is to inform you about Project Polar Bear. Allow me to explain. Project Polar Bear is a project in which teens across America are helping to raise awareness for global warming, and the coming extinction of the creature we know as the polar bear. As you may know, this species' numbers are dwindling. This is due to global warming.

            Global warming is caused by green house gases. Green house gases are released by things such as cars, factories, and using electricity. This letter's purpose is to inform you of global warming. It is also hopefully a pledge to make a big change in your life. What we are really asking is that you keep an eye on leaving the lights on, or not recycling your water bottles. All in all, we want you to help save the environment, and help us to save the polar bears.

            At the bottom of this letter you will find a pledge sheet. We ask that you fill out this sheet and send it to the address of either:

• Turn off the lights when not in the room
• Turn off the television/ radio when not watching/ listening to it
• Recycle my aluminum/ plastic/ paper products
• Plant a tree/ flowers
• Switch out regular light bulbs for compact fluorescent light bulbs
• Walk or ride your bike to near by places
• Turn off computer overnight
• Unplug chargers when not in use
